Hello Again! Let's talk Values

Inclusive Community - Every voice is equally important. Everyone should feel safe in our community. Everybody is welcome in our City. As Councilor I will represent everyone and look at City policies and resolutions from the view of benefits and impacts to everyone.

Balanced Growth - Homes, businesses, and services all need to grow in numbers and variety for Leduc to thrive. Not just for today, but with the intention of tomorrow. As Councilor I will be looking for opportunities to foster this balance, including City policy and budget.

Respectfully Authentic - You be you, and I'll be me. When we meet, we will find we have both common ground and areas where we respectfully disagree, and that is ok. Good ideas can become better ideas when they are shaped together with our differences. As Councilor I will connect regularly, encourage your engagement, and be curious as to your experiences, ideas and opinions.

Informed Decisionmaker - As Councilor I am required to make the best decision I can, and it will be on me to feel informed sufficiently to do so. I do not know everything, but I will work hard researching, learning, listening, and asking questions (sometimes tough ones).. At the end of the day, I will vote on the items before council, and my accountability for those decisions lies with you.

My Story

Career

Babysitter, Dishwasher, Dog Walker all while growing up and going to University.
19 years at what started as EXH Engineering Services Ltd. and was eventually bought out and rebranded to WSP. I started as the receptionist, and was fortunate to have great mentors that allowed me to keep trying new tasks and work when I asked for it. My roles included Bridge Inspector, Municipal Designer, Office Manager, Executive Assistant, Business Analyst, and Business Manager. I was a part of so many different types of projects across Alberta, mainly for Municipalities like the City of Leduc.
More recently 7 years at GHD, in the roles of Operations Manager and Project Management Organizational Leader. There I experienced a more global approach to teams, and delivered on a vision of intentional growth and business change. I loved the strategic planning and then working hard on the execution with the diverse teams.
I've had some other side gigs over the years as well, including City of Leduc Census worker.

Home Life

Mom of 3 kids, two of which are pursuing their post secondary choices, and one entering into Grade 12. I also have my daughter's budgie Snowflake, whom keeps me entertained with her antics in my house. And upon my Mom's passing last fall, I adopted her Labrador cross Dane, Tracker. He keeps me very active with walks, to which I am very thankful for the City's Multiuse Trail network. I love to read books in my backyard, play some online games with friends including Helldivers 2, and am exploring my love of macrame.
